The SGTA seminar is a bi-weekly meeting organized by the senior GTAs (SGTAs) and Dr. Arnold. The seminars are geared toward issues affecting graduate students. They include a range of professional development topics such as:

  • Balancing coursework, teaching, and research
  • Building a competitive CV and/or resume
  • Preparing job application materials such as research, teaching, and diversity statements
  • Building a professional website
  • Navigating your relationship with your adviser
  • The teaching and learning of mathematics

Weekly Meeting Time & Location: Wednesdays, 8-10am, in Major Williams 334

During Fall 2022, several graduate students are getting together weekly to read and discuss research papers in the area of Numerical Analysis. Check out their website here!
